On May 11 2009, Port Ephoala received the first vessel for bulk shipment bound for Canada. This first shipment featured a vessel with a 37,000 tonnage capacity, which received bulk Titanium Ore mined at a location approximately 10 km from the port, processed at the mineral separation plant, and transferred by belt conveyor onto the ship continuously for 45 hours.
